You Are More Than You Think You Are: Unlock Your Hidden Potential

I have always liked those makeover shows. You know the ones. Woman comes out (usually a woman but a man every so often) looking not so hot, then throw on some make-up, change the hair, new clothes, and voilashe emerges one SMOKING HOT WOMAN!

I do know reality, however. Some producer probably told the woman, now when you come on the show, be sure to wear your worst clothesa sweatsuit is preferabledont wear make up and maybe just run a comb through your hair once.

We all love contrasts, right? And they go for the highest contrast possible.

But contrast is not what makes these shows interesting to me or a lesson for all of us. The thing that makes these shows valuable tools is that they reveal ones

…potential.

Think about this. The woman who didnt look so beautiful in the beginning of the show all of a sudden emerges looking like a model. The questions is: who is the woman now? The same woman who was in the beginning of the show? Or the model?

The answer is shes both. Some may argue that make up, new hair, and new clothes covered up imperfections. And this is correct to some extent. But the beauty you see was there the whole time. It was the eyes of the makeup artists, the fashion consultants, and the hairstylists that saw that potential and brought it to the surface.

Thats why theyre paid so much money.

I am talking about these shows because in our daily lives we fail to notice our own potential. We fail to challenge ourselves to see what we are capable of. Or we tell ourselves that we cant do something.

In other words, we set out own limits without ever questioning the boundaries themselves.

You are more than you think you are

And if you think you dont have it within you, let me give you another type of makeover show: the home makeover show.

Have you ever seen those shows where they re-make a room with nothing more than what was already there? They dont paint or add anything.

The secret is that they REMOVE things and re-arrange others to create something new and beautiful.

That is what we can do to transform ourselves.

Remove the boundaries. Remove the things that are weighing us down. Get rid of the mental and physical possessions that are preventing you from growing.

And the re-arrange your life little by little step by step.

Remember: you have unlimited potential. And the key to unlocking it is in removing the boundaries you set for yourself, testing those limits, and moving beyond them.

You already have what it takes. All you have to do now is do it.
